I have redesigned my paperbacks of individual novels to reduce their size from 6×9 inches to 5.25×8 inches–more in keeping with the mystery genre. The smaller format is consistent with the size of pocketbooks–a staple of mystery fiction–and is easier to handle. In addition, Rick Holland of Vision Press has done a great job in making a new set of spooky-looking covers for my paperbacks and ebooks. The covers include silhouettes of my protagonists–detectives Hamish Cameron and Sean Carroll–and also some of the other characters, in the settings in which they appear in each of the books. For instance, the new cover of Evil Ever Lives shows a teenage girl approaching a mansion where some of the action occurs, while the cover of Evil Through the Spyglass shows a schooner as seen from windswept cliff. It was very easy to work with Rick and I’m super happy with the results!
The new editions of my paperbacks and ebooks have replaced the earlier ones on Amazon; see my In Paperback and Ebooks pages. In addition, the individual paperbacks with the new book format and redesigned covers are now published by Ingram Spark and can be ordered from traditional booksellers, both bricks and mortar and online. I hope you will agree with me that they produce a high quality product!
